welcome to waterfallYoga!

waterfallYoga is based on the practice of Hatha Yoga. Explore Hatha Yoga with waterfallYoga. I invite you to practice with waterfallYoga as there is always something to learn as we explore and deepen our practice. Yoga will help build a strong foundation of health. This includes an enhanced awareness of our body, breath and mind. Join waterfallYoga and learn the practice of Hatha Yoga or meditation to enrich your health and wellbeing.

Classes are created for students whether in a studio, corporate environment, small private group, individual or couples. The introduction of the Hatha Yoga practice will start with relaxation and centering. Once we start the active warming of the body we move into standing Asanas to build strength and stamina. We slow our practice down and settle into a welcome Savanasa to end our practice.

Buddhist teacher Pema Chodron explains: “Practice isn’t about trying to throw ourselves away and become something better. It’s about befriending who we are already. The ground of practice is you or me or whoever we are right now, just as we are. We recognize our capacity to relax with the clarity, the space, the open-ended awareness that already exists in our minds. We experience moments of being right here that feel simple, direct, and uncluttered.”

clarity.mind.body.renewal.

With a clear mind body connection; each individual will feel a sense of renewal whether it is through stress reduction, less anxiety, calm and relaxation. waterfallYoga is a perfect practice for anybody at any level. Namaste.

about ann:

Ann Marie Walsh is the principle of waterfallYoga

Ann offers Hatha Yoga teaching through waterfallYoga. Ann completed her 200YTT at Lahari Yoga and Wellness in 2017.  In 2018 Ann completed a Restorative Yoga Teacher Immersion course taught by Kim Sheridan at Lahari Yoga and Wellness.

For over seven years, Ann has been meditating and attends community organized meditation sessions and retreats on a regular basis. Every morning Ann meditates and practices a short yoga sequence. To become familiar with the inner workings of each posture requires practice; as you practice the art and science of yoga and it becomes more routine may you start to recognize the effort and effortlessness within the movement.

Ann is a passionate individual motivated to help individuals discover their yoga practice path to health and wellness. Yoga helps us wake up to life; it is a means of staying connected with ourselves both on and off the mat. Ann continues to explore and discover new ‘flow’, ‘gentle’ and ‘restorative’ practice through her yoga play. When we make our yoga practice playful it is more likely we will want to continue the practice of learning yoga. Ann loves to learn and is starting to explore the benefits of Ayurveda yoga – the ancient art and science of keeping the body and mind balanced and healthy. Ann is planning to attend a yoga retreat in the fall/winter of 2018 to acquire more knowledge of yoga and plans to incorporate the learning into her practice and classes.

In her spare time, Ann enjoys exploring the wonders of the world through yoga, meditation, travel, food arts and culture. Ann loves animals and volunteers with the Langley Animal Protection Society (LAPS) to help raise awareness about animal welfare.

Ann lives in Langley BC with her daughter, dog Willow and cat Luna.

“Yoga does not remove us from the reality or responsibilities of everyday life but rather places our feet firmly and resolutely in the practical ground of experience. We don’t transcend our lives; we return to the life we left behind in the hopes of something better.”Donna Farhi
